Nissan Motor company name was established in 1934, today’s Nissan consists of many many other car companies that joined with it over the years. Nissan has an excellent history website that has lot of interesting Nissan/Datsun facts. For example the Datsun name used by Nissan for many years was derived from son of DAT, the DAT being one of the early car makers they joined with.
