Aston Martin started in 1913 by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin (who used to race at Aston hill), it was initially called Bamford & Martin Ltd. In 1922 they broke 10 world records for sustaining 76 MPH for over 16 hours. In 1925 they went bankrupt and were reorganized into Aston Martin Motors. Between 1994 and 2007 Aston Martin was owned by the Ford Motor Company. Read more about the history of Aston Martin here.
